The incident occurred throughout a protest march towards the monarchy, which happened within the capital of Eire on the day of the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth in London.

Eire’s Anti-Imperialist Motion stated it was a recreation of former Socialist chief James Connolly’s motion in Dublin in 1897 throughout a go to to the town by Queen Victoria.
